Zero deaths recorded in Victoria for first time in two months

Victoria has recorded zero new coronavirus deaths overnight for the first time since July 13.

The state reported 42 new infections in the past 24 hours, marking a slight rise since yesterday with 35 – the lowest daily increase since June – however continued the positive downward trend in cases.

the latest figures also revealed Victoria to be nearing a fortnight of less than 200 daily new infections.

The national death toll stood at 816, with 18 people in intensive care across the country.
